Montserrado Roadshow Boosts Awareness on Tourism Compliance, Licensing, and Fee Payment

MONROVIA, March 20, 2026 – A successful roadshow was held across Montserrado by the Liberia National Tourism Authority (LNTA), aimed at raising awareness about compliance, licensing, and fee payment, as well as guiding businesses within the cultural, creative economy, and tourism sectors on how to properly register and become compliant.

The initiative, conducted across key locations, forms part of LNTA’s ongoing efforts to promote tourism and cultural development by educating operators on the importance of becoming licensed and compliant. The outreach specifically targeted tourism businesses, entities, and event planners.

Speaking during the engagement, LNTA Director General Princess Eva Cooper emphasized that compliance with registration and licensing requirements is essential for ensuring quality service delivery, enhancing visitor confidence, and promoting sustainable tourism development.

The roadshow featured widespread awareness activities, including the distribution of flyers containing key messages on registration, licensing, and compliance. Madam Cooper noted that the goal of the initiative is to take awareness directly to businesses operating within the tourism sector. “Compliance is not just a requirement—it is a pathway to growth, credibility, and access to opportunities,” she stated.

She also commended the LNTA team for their dedication and teamwork, adding, “Your energy and positive attitude were the heartbeat of this event. The way you supported one another and stepped up during the roadshow truly demonstrated the power of teamwork.”

During the exercise, LNTA teams provided on-the-spot guidance to business owners, responded to questions, and encouraged unregistered operators to take immediate steps toward formalization. Informational materials outlining key processes and requirements for various categories of tourism enterprises were also distributed.
