Back-to-back cruise arrivals signal growing tourism interest in Liberia
Monrovia, April 28, 2026 — Approximately 200 international visitors arrived in Liberia aboard the Silversea cruise ship in Monrovia, marking the second cruise ship arrival at the Freeport of Monrovia in less than five days. The visit was organized and coordinated by Jos Travel and Tours Inc, with guests traveling to experience Liberia’s authentic heritage and culture firsthand.
Following their arrival, they embarked on a curated historical tour across key heritage sites in the capital. The tour proceeded to Ducor Hill, continued to the J. J. Roberts Monument, and then to the National Museum of Liberia in the heart of Monrovia, before heading to Providence Baptist Church, where the Declaration of Independence was signed. The tour further extended to the Centennial Pavilion and the College of West Africa.
In addition, the visitors were guided through local communities such as Mamba Point, a renowned neighborhood noted for its diplomatic presence, expat community, and local artisan market, where they engaged with residents and supported local businesses through direct purchases.
Some guests also visited the Sacred Heart Cathedral before embarking on the Broad Street Historic Walk.
Special appreciation to Jos Travel and Tours Inc for thoughtfully organizing the experience and ensuring visitors enjoyed Liberia’s rich history, culture, and warm hospitality.
