Domestic tourism is the foundation of a resilient and sustainable tourism economy. The Liberia National Tourism Authority (LNTA) prioritizes Liberians as both participants and beneficiaries of tourism development—on the demand side as travelers and on the supply side as entrepreneurs, creatives, operators, and service providers. We encourage Liberians to explore their own heritage, landscapes, and cultural assets, thereby strengthening national identity, local economies, and year-round tourism activity. Youth participation remains central to this vision, ensuring that sustainable tourism becomes embedded within Liberia’s long-term development trajectory.

Strategic Focus Areas

Partnerships with schools and universities for heritage tours and experiential learning.
Churches and community groups for structured domestic travel.
Promotion of local destinations for conferences, team-building, and events.
Creative Economy Collaboration to design authentic tour experiences.
Partner with tour operators to promote accessible and affordable domestic travel circuits.

The LNTA warmly invites members of the African Diaspora to experience Liberia—Africa’s historic gateway of return and renewal. Rooted in a unique Pan-African legacy, Liberia represents a powerful convergence of African American repatriates, Afro-Caribbean settlers, and indigenous communities who together shaped a nation grounded in liberty, dignity, and self-determination. Liberia’s historical significance positions it as a meaningful destination for reflection, reconnection, and cultural discovery. From heritage landmarks to biodiversity reserves and vibrant traditional practices, the country offers immersive experiences that speak to identity, ancestry, and belonging.
