Hon. Princess Eva Cooper is a business and finance executive with extensive experience in banking, telecommunications, strategic management, and business development. She was appointed by President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. in October 2025 as the inaugural Director General of the Liberia National Tourism Authority (LNTA), where she leads efforts to advance Liberia’s tourism sector and preserve its cultural heritage.
Before joining LNTA, Ms. Cooper held senior management positions at Guaranty Trust Bank (Liberia) Ltd., overseeing Corporate, Digital, and Retail Banking. Her responsibilities spanned financial management, business operations, customer engagement, and strategic growth. She later served as Head of Enterprise Business at Lonestar Cell MTN, contributing to business expansion and initiatives to extend internet connectivity and information and communication technology services to urban and rural communities. Her experience in the telecommunications sector also included efforts to broaden digital access and introduce fiber-to-home services in Liberia.
Her professional experience across banking and telecommunications has equipped her with expertise in executive management, financial planning, service expansion, and strategic partnerships. This cross-sector background provides a strong foundation for her leadership in tourism, particularly in institutional development, private-sector engagement, and investment promotion.
Ms. Cooper holds dual Master of Business Administration degrees in Finance and Business Administration, a Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance, and a Diploma in Contemporary Diplomacy and International Relations.
As Director General of LNTA, she provides strategic direction for tourism policy implementation, destination marketing, cultural heritage preservation, and sector coordination. Her priorities include strengthening the Authority’s institutional capacity, promoting Liberia’s natural and cultural attractions, mobilizing investment, and building collaboration among government institutions, private businesses, local communities, and international development partners.
Under her leadership, LNTA is working to position tourism as a strategic contributor to Liberia’s economic diversification, employment creation, and sustainable development. Her vision is to build a vibrant, competitive, and sustainable tourism sector that showcases Liberia’s unique natural landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and diverse tourism experiences. Her strategic direction emphasizes stronger partnerships, expanded investment opportunities, and greater visibility for Liberia in regional and international tourism markets. These efforts advance the ambition of making Liberia a destination of choice for travelers seeking authentic cultural encounters, nature-based experiences, and meaningful connections with local communities. She is committed to ensuring that tourism generates lasting economic opportunities for Liberians and preserves the country’s cultural heritage for generations to come.
